About this deal

I would not call midrange as the strongest point of these headphones but energetic and detailed delivery of instruments (and bassports) still almost makes me forget it and for me its one of the main features that makes Pro 82 such a fun headphone to listen to. You might wont notice any of this on a daily listening without comparing them to other headphones with more even midrange. Another reason not to replace pads - I'm quite sure other pads will result in worse leakage/isolation.

Box doesnt really include anything special besides headphones, manual, cable, warranty card, authenticity certification, carrying pouc, 3,5mm adapter and so on. Design is pretty much ripped off from Sony MDR-1A and Audio Technica ATH-MSR7 but i have to say that i dig it more than their predecessors which was more Beyerdynamic-inspired. I like that they kept design plain and simple. I also have to mention that you can listen most of the genres without any problem with these, in terms of sound its a well rounder since its not biased in one particular area. o NAD 7120 Stereo Receiver (yes, that one from the 80’s – one of the few manufactured in Japan if I have my history right)They have decent clarity especially in the treble region and for a small part of the bass region there is very good resolution, like little short flashes of brilliance. Vocals are actually very very well done and actually sound "airy" but unlike the treble and bass it's weakness outweighs its brilliance; by this I mean every so often you will find music that doesn't sound "right" vocally. If you’re a critical listener and you can live with the glue that seems to have destroyed my will to talk about anything else, you’ll probably be better off with the Pro 82's. Otherwise, unless you think it’ll be too small for your head, the Cloud II’s are the better buy. They offer more features, a more solid-feeling build, a company with support departments in more countries, and a sound that’s easier to listen to for long periods of time. Gone are the impressive 53mm drivers from the Pro 80, replaced with 40mm “NdFeB” drivers. NdFeB is just a different way of writing “Neodymium,” which is the magnet material used for pretty much every dynamic headphone driver on the planet, so it’s strange that Takstar decided to hype this up so much under a different name. An EQ, on this mode, can push their strong bass response into an insane amount of mid-bass punch and sub-bass depth that even reaches some rumble and impact. In addition to that you get an amazing box and carrying case with these. I believe in market most of the companies would only sell that box for Takstar Pro82's complete price.

The ear pads use a soft medium density memory foam, and the leatherette covering them is pretty nice. It’s not as eerily soft as the leatherette on the Cloud Alpha pads, which are still the benchmark for this type of material. The only major sonic flaw of the Pro 82’s is that they have too much upper-end energy. If you’re into critical listening it’s not going to be a big deal, and you can mask it a little by opening up the ports….but then you lose some of the clarity that energy provides. The clarity difference is like going from a DT770 to a DT990. The good things about the Cloud II’s mids and highs are amped up in the Pro 82's, and that brings its own set of plusses and minuses. But neither of these are bad. Please just buy the one you’re interested in. Oh how I wish that last sentence could be the entirety of every one of these articles. On this mode, bass starts to get out of control and step over, also, the highs personality of the TAKSTAR PRO 82. Detail will remain similar as on “Bass Off” but their clean and bright sound will get (perceptibly) congested and with a darkish tint. First, the good. They have an excellent sense of clarity and detail without the slight grain of the Pro 80. A natural, prominent midrange is the star of the show here. If you give these a little power, they’ll show you all the detail and flaws in your audio that you want.

What more is there to say? I love these headphones! They may be imperfect and have some QA issues, but audiophiles and filthy casuals alike ought to give these a chance. They are very comfortable. Maybe the 2nd most comfortable headphones I have tried behind the WS1100iS. See I had gone years thinking all around ear headphones were designed to torture the user, so the recent ones I have tried have been very surprising in the comfort department.Amirm's EQ is about 4dB higher than mine so you need to make sure the preamp gain is set correctly during A/B comparison. Another feature that adds to their comfort and daily usage are the detachable, single-sided cable, the tilting and rotational cups and the fact that they lay fully flat.
