It’s one of the first beaches on the west side of the Lizard Peninsula, and part of an area of special scientific interest (SSSI) – playing home to unique or rare wildlife and geology. When it comes to the UK's most beautiful beaches, Cornwall is probably the first place that springs to mind. Places like Newquay, St Ives and Lizard Point are all home to some of the best beaches in the world, with beauty spots such as Kynance Cove, Porthcurno and Porthmeor all popular to visit on a Cornwall holiday. Here we are going to introduce you to several others that might not be quite so well known, unless of course you holiday in Cornwall regularly. At one end of the beach is the town leading towards Penhale Point, where there’s an extensive network of sand dunes. This is also home to a buried church and is the quietest area of the beach.

Possibly the least secret of all the beaches we've mentioned, but a personal favourite here at Stay In HQ – we couldn't leave out the quiet, stunning Cornish beach found between Fowey and Polperro. Access to Porth Joke is fairly limited with a small, National Trust car park being at least a 15-minute walk away. Due to this, this secluded beach is not as popular as others and often overlooked.
