I nod a few times, pushing myself as far as I can into the wall so the blade doesn’t cut into me. But I can’t stop the whimper from leaving my mouth. A big moment in the first book was him eating only raw meat and yet we didn't even see him having his first real meal once freed. I mean REALLY ? Then there were times, just like in the first part of the Duet, when it was just too repetitive in thoughts and actions. Then there were a couple of data inconsistencies, although far less that the first part, such as a gunshot wound that was not treated or mentioned again (Beast’s forearm by Lex). This book opens in The Netherlands when Luca and Jill are twenty-one. Tensions between the De Vos and Baas families remain high since the tragedy that took place three years ago. I didn’t expect the twist of this story; has a rather unexpected revelation that might leave you stunned, but it’s amazingly good! Beast is a feral and untamed giant caged monster known as the Beast trained as an assassin. Beast is known for being wild, wild, and dangerous; he’s also handsome and sexy as hell. Aurora Blom is the daughter of a crime boss who likes to play the piano but always wears gloves. Why? Aurora has been protected by her father all her life.

I was truly hoping the 2nd have of this book would be a deep emotional read about Cage adjusting to everyday life and the struggle, maybe some ptsd... but no it was crap and ruined the book for me.

I was really enjoying everything and then her father showed up again … so I just couldn’t rate this 5 stars and the more I went through my issues with the story, I ended up at 3. Here are some of my issues: But at the same time, she also finds herself falling for the gruff and at times naive male who is not surprisingly just a product of his environment. I honestly could keep going and dissect every bit of this book but let me sum it up. For what it is, there a THOUSANDS of better books out there. I love reading trashy spicy books but this one was AWFUL. Go read any other steamy romance and I guarantee you it is better than whatever this sh*tshow was.

The chemistry here is very much physical- a lot of instalust, and from Beauty’s unexpected kindness to him. We get a little bit of emotional bonding, but much of the story is them figuring out their situation- and it leads up to quite a big cliffhanger. There is a particularly salacious scene (following when we find out one of Aurora’s secrets) that was extra delicious. Cage and Ella are being held captive. Cage was born and raised in captivity forced into the fighting world. A world that he now only knows. Ella was chosen by Cage as a prize for when he wins the fight. This is the second book in the Beast and Beauty Duet. This duet is inspired by Beauty and the Beast but it is a dark duet and you will need to heed the warnings in the beginning of the book. All the buttons of my top fly away as the fabric parts, leaving only a bra between him and my naked skin.
