About this deal

A farm child and a fugitive make an unspoken connection in this suspenseful, wordless Civil War episode. I wanted more about his motorcycle collection, the work he has done on them, how much he did himself etc. it was a good read by the man him self ,giving a insight to his early troubled life and the incredible people he met by just doing a job. He has worked on nearly one hundred and fifty books for children, including Nesting, Unspoken, Big Bug, A Nest for Celeste, Jack's Garden, and On Meadowview Street.

Portrayed, not only as an exhibitor, museum director and educationalist, but also as a galvanic force administering salutary shocks over broad areas of Victorian life. Superb visual storytelling shows her hands time and time again offering a piece of corn bread, apple pie, a leg of chicken, each time on a small checkered kerchief, to the young, hidden runaway.Unspoken is based on Henry Cole’s fascination with the part that the barn on his own farm might have played in the history of slavery. His great-uncle Redbeard’s corrugated iron shed was ‘stuffed to the gills with old motorbikes’ which Henry helped rebuild and ride. After pondering her discovery, she stealthily delivers food wrapped in a checkered napkin on multiple occasions. Cole's brilliant colors and rounded shapes done in acrylic paints and colored pencil extend the fun, drawing children into the action and offering additional occasions for storytime and classroom discussion. When Sammy Shine crashes into the forest, he ends up in a whole new world; no longer does he live in comfort in his shoe box .

I’m not sure Henry is exactly at peace with the world but I think he is probably closer than many others will ever be. Illustrations of anthropomorphic animals are very well done and show differences among children without judgment. Henry Cole's unusual and original rendering of the Underground Railroad speaks directly to our deepest sense of compassion. Size is relative, but everything is worth seeing in this concept book from the illustrator of And Tango Makes Three. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. If you are a biker or not it's a good read about a person who starts life at Eaton plus a early life on drugs now over 30 years clean and great TV presenter and family man. Henry’s passion for motorbikes began at the age of eight, when he was first introduced to a ‘man cave’. Described as "a clever agitator, and a public spirited fellow", he waged many campaigns, moving from the Public Records to the Penny Post, to railway expansion, to patent law revision, to art and design reform. The book was tipped by many to be a Caldecott winner, but beaten to it by Jon Klassen’s That’s Not my Hat’.

A Biker's Life is the dramatic, humorous and candid memoir of one of the most recognisable names in motorcycling. Unspoken encapsulates a little piece of American history in a profound way for 7-10 year olds, and gets the reader to ask themselves; ‘what is that person really thinking?

From construction to maintenance, from foundations to roof to damp-proofing in between (“nobody wants rusty nuts”), here is all the practical information you need to start your own shed odyssey, delivered in Henry’s inimitable style. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Doesn't matter if you have never ridden a Motorcycle or not, or if you only have a small interest, you won't be disapointed, go on give it a read. Since then, Henry's life can be charted through the bikes and journeys he has been on – from a stifling public-school education, via many years battling addiction, to the big-sky iconic routes Henry has ridden for over twenty series as presenter of numerous TV shows. Children's books, hackney cabs, public lavatories, choral singing, cookery, sewage disposal, to name a few subjects, all came under his critical gaze.

Henry Cole is on television most days of the year as the presenter of shows like Shed and Buried, the World's Greatest Motorcycle Rides and The Motorbike Show. His great-great-great-great uncle was William Ewart Gladstone, the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. I know I'm not alone in wanting to have my kids around, not tucked away in their bedrooms, and that means the kid’s stuff is around too. Selected items may be purchased early for dispatch from the future date given in their product information. He does contradict himself quite a lot,the second line in chapter one lines says how much he hates cars and dislikes driving them while the rest of the book tells of cars he's owned, and often loved, complete with pictures. This jaunty and upbeat picture book from celebrated author-illustrator Henry Cole is perfect for back-to-school and all year round.
