About this deal

We at Penguin Random House Australia acknowledge that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are the Traditional Custodians and the first storytellers of the lands on which we live and work.

From colleagues, I got mixed reactions when I told them who I was going to interview, largely depending on their gender. Two years ago, I began weekly counselling sessions with a therapist who helped untangle my emotions enough that I finally stopped Googling suicide methods.

He lives as a journalist but does the least amount of work, takes lots of drugs and seeps with a few women. Using whatever and whoever he can, Puppy explores the grit and glamour of a city seething with the possibilities and politics of money, race and sex: an incendiary cocktail that explodes, changing him and those closest to him forever. The book is written in the first person, and this is the voice of the protagonist, Bhupinder: "I've always loved women. Through the week, I felt and saw myself and my fellow twenty-eight participants undergo radical transformations. Like many lonely people, I’ve often felt at my lowest when the rest of the world seems most happy – including sunny bank holidays, like this.

And because I, like millions of women, identify with her so closely, having rewatched every episode of Sex And The City since it first aired in the UK in 1999, plus the two films and now season two of the reboot, And Just Like That . Gotta say, I'd have to replace the featured description's use of "filthy" with "sad" and its "an incendiary cocktail that explodes" with "self-created mess that leaks all over. She actually explicitly said once that she was grateful to the column for helping to find resolution in arguments. Good-looking, disenchanted, adventurous, he abandons his conservative family to live life to the full, exploiting his own charms to explore the hedonistic pleasures of high society London. In all honesty, I couldn't stand the main character, the lewd gratuitous descriptions of sex, there didn't seem to be any kind of plot or direction - but I simply COULD NOT put it down.By using the Web site, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the Terms and Conditions. Unfortunately rather than being hardcover as described at time of sale, it was a paperback but it is in good condition . It is obligatory nowadays for films and novels to have one sex scene but this had book had a lot of explicit sex, it tended to go on and on.

All social and racial taboos are thrown to the wind as Puppy 'screws' his white friends in more way than one. This is a very good first effort, told from a different viewpoint to my own making for very interesting reading. Yeah there are a lot of sex scenes but the cavalier way the author uses the C word gets abrasive and the insinuation that his dick is big because he is Indian just comes across as wishful thinking. The same could be said of the marriage of Liz Jones, confessional columnist extraordinaire, and Nirpal Singh Dhaliwal, bad-boy novelist. Using whatever and whoever he can, Puppy explores the grit and glamour of a city seething with the possibilities and politics of money, race and sex- an incendiary cocktail that explodes, changing him and those closest to him forever. The problem with this story is Puppy as a character is unlikeable and for all his problems, has only himself to blame.
