About this deal

Some of the page layouts are a bit odd due to the amount of physical space the notes take up and a book might end up starting two thirds down the page but this is an incredibly minor flaw in my opinion. My only criticism about this translation is the odd Americanism; but I have been using this translation for the last six years and have learnt to live with that. out of 5 stars for NLT Large-Print Premium Value Thinline Bible, Filament Enabled Edition--soft leather-look, teal.

The New Living Translation (NLT) version of the Holy Bible is a version that is popular with many readers of the Bible. The study notes at the bottom of each page bring to life the culture of the times written about, explain how the scriptures can be applied to our lives today, and help us to grow in our knowledge (and love) of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Glad you liked the review, we try to do in-depth reviews and answer questions we think people are likely to have. The notes section also includes numerous (over 500) charts, maps, and lists that further add to your understanding of what is happening and how to apply it to your life. Its cover choices are very similar to the standard size: numerous colors of Leatherlike, two colors of genuine leather, and hardcover all with or without thumb indexing. One huge difference is that the large print editions are all red-letter, while all of the other two sizes are black-letter only. It deals with more of today’s issues than the previous editions, including some that were taboo 30 years ago like shame and abuse of power within the church. The Life Application Study Bible has numerous maps, building a thorough and comprehensive Bible atlas right into the pages of this Bible.

There is also a Vital Statistics column for each one that includes the author, original audience, purpose, setting, and many key and special features. It also includes a brief application-focused summary to help you understand why this book is important today. A large timeline that mixes Biblical events with other world events helps give historical context especially to those less familiar with the Bible. Anyway I started reading my new to me NLT which is the Large print slimline “crown of thorns” edition. There are 2 shades of green ink used in various ways to separate the notes from the standard text and to highlight which kind of note it is.At the beginning of each book of the Bible, there is important information about the book that's great to read before you start reading so you have some ideas about it. With a fresh two-color interior design and meaningfully updated study notes and features, this Bible will help you understand God’s Word better than ever. It was updated not because it was no longer relevant (it was still very useful) but to make it even better for our time, and hopefully for years to come. Externally, weight and thickness are the only real differences between the standard and large print editions. Both give great guidelines for daily living based on the scriptural teachings, and both are very easy to read, being in modern language thus making the books come alive for today's readers.

In each Gospel, each event is cross-referenced to the other Gospels and to one complete Harmony of the Gospels. The pagination is identical between the two (same words in the same place on the same numbered page). I think this focus on application makes this a great Bible for anyone who wants to take the message of the Bible seriously, but I particularly think it’s great for young people, seekers, and new believers. Where other study Bibles offer insight about the text, the Life Application Study Bible goes one step further and asks readers to consider how it applies to the rhythm of their daily lives. The translation is clear and accurate and the study notes are providing me with knowledge that I had not previously known or considered. NEARLY 10,000 LIFE APPLICATION STUDY TOOLS, including Life Application notes, Book introductions, Profiles of Bible figures, Cross-references, Daily reading plan, Index/dictionary/concordance, Harmony of the Gospels, Charts and maps, and a Christian Worker’s Resource. There is surprisingly a lot of space for marginalia and the Life Application notes are ridiculously timely/inspired. I’ve noticed it includes fewer words than some concordances but frequently has a more complete list of Scriptures for the words it does include.

They are separated from the Biblical text by a thin green line and by the double instead of single column presentation.

The Life Application Study Bible, Third Edition, is quite simply the most complete Bible ever compiled. I haven't learned about Christianity since school, and my knowledge about God has vanished more than I thought.
