About this deal

Four modes of play: pre-programmed shapes, games, art for colouring and freeform coding, children will love coding Artie to “tell” the robot what to do!

It is a fantastic home learning resource and has been a welcome addition to our home learning during lockdown. Artie 3000’s versatile movement and the ability to set the distance and/or degree of movement or direction via the Artie interface means that Artie can draw a vast variety of pictures all you need is your imagination and an understanding of the coding tiles.Rather than spending ages explaining how he works… We made this video so you can see him in action for yourself!

We don't think much could go wrong with Artie besides maybe getting permanent marker on your kitchen table. From simple designs to complex code creations, these drawing robots translate code into works of art. On the front on the card is a picture of the item and instructions to draw it by finding it on the menu.Older or more experienced children can extend the learning further as Artie supports the use of more advanced programming languages such as Blockly, Python and even Javascript! Artie 3000 does not require an internet connection however when connected and coding with Artie you cannot access other sites on the device you are using. To make using Artie quick and easy he comes with a setup guide plus fact sheets with different lessons of varying difficulty on how to draw with Artie. I have been able to test a few STEM-related toys with them and now I get to check out the Artie 3000 by Educational Insights.

The product’s unique bridging of technology and coding with art and design saw Artie noted as one of the most innovative products at this year’s London Toy Fair, scooping a prestigious London Toy Fair Hero Award at the event. The fact that they are washable is great just in case they accidentally mark Artie as you place the marker in the robot or if he strays from the paper so as not to permanently mark the table. A clear plastic cap is included to safeguard the tip of the marker during short periods of time when it is not being used.
