About this deal

The current formula is still a close copy of the original but overall is smoother with a more refined vibe. I'd even argue that certain turned bottles may seem a bit more animalic because of whatever chemical degradation had done to the bases: it's just a theory. Also the much quoted toilet block and household cleaner association simply didn't get rid of me with some test candidates. But either the fragrance aged a bit a changed (which I think is really the case) or my sensitivity to patchouli changed.

A floral outpouring (oh my) that even knocks Geoffrey Beene's fabled Grey Flannel out of its unused bower. I love Aramis and many of its masculine compositions from the past but I can only barely stand A900. In fact, as it’s often been pointed out, if Aramis 900 hadn’t been marketed for men, it would have worked just as well as a woman’s scent – a good example of the obvious but too rarely grasped fact that in itself perfume has no gender. Below you can see the longest potential duration for storage on a device, as set when using the cookie method of storage and if there are any other methods used. i know that the most of u will disagree with me, and i respect that, but i have to say i dont like this fragrance at all.My first impression is that of a perfume made in Ireland; Fraoch by BRIAN VINCENT - not in the Fragrantica data base. To date, there are only a few scents that will last on my skin for hours and hours, and some even into the late evening. It has a very royal vibe to it like I'm having a meeting with the prince of some middle eastern country, and perhaps the year is 1973, this is what the prince would wear, the prince probably has some roses stuffed in his pocket. Immediately on spraying, the rose note in my vintage is much sharper/shriller/harsher and sweeter than the current formula - frankly at this point the vintage could knock someone out with its strength.

Get hold of the old bottle if you can because I think it has been reformulated and now is not as strong. Aramis 900 by Aramis opens open with herbal garden of green accords, coriander, rosewood with sparkling lemon and bergamot. Yes, precisely in those years when masculinity had its own precise connotation, its own formal and adapted style, when there were only a few men's fragrances, all characterized by common elements (citrus notes, leather, patchouli and definitely spices). The forest-floor oakmoss and vetiver also stop it smelling sweet, while the carnation (despite being a flower) gives it the same kind of peppery spiciness that you can smell in Chanel’s Egoïste. When I wore this few days ago around my wife she actually made a face and ask "why are you wearing this type of fragrance?Patchouli, oakmoss and vetiver are the base notes of the fragrance, which settles on the skin as a refined and elegant rose chypre. I feel like a have a soul of a dragon, and calmness and wisdom of a 75, or 85 year old lady - unbeatable combo! I think think it's good value for money when you consider this is handmade and you would easily spend a lot more on a much cheaper bottle of off the shelf aftershave.

I don't get any real drop off in quality of ingredients or massive change in the quality of the drydown; any perceived differences maybe down more to the age of the older bottle against the freshness of the newer one. This due to the fact that many perfumes produced nowadays have little or nothing in common with the original formulas. Aramis 900 is herbal and debuted in 1973, toward the end of the back-to-the-land, hippie era but the accords are sophisticated and provide an upscale, urbane herbal scent. It remains a classic, but timeless men's fragrance that almost approaches the 50 (like me, by the way) and therefore finds a place on my shelf! I see by the lot number that it was manufactured in February of 2017 therefore it is a bit past its 3 year shelf life. It's just for spraying something on after taking a shower and before going to sleep or something in a similar vein.
