About this deal

Audio recordings are more universal than MIDI ones because they provide you with a CD-quality audio file playable on most modern devices, and don’t require any additional software, and sample libraries (VSTs) to render a MIDI recording to audio. In case you haven’t found the instrument that suits your needs in this article, I’d like to provide some extra information that will hopefully help you find the right instrument.

We love providing students with everything they need to start playing immediately, from the keyboard to accessories, lessons, day camps and even that first concert. How to you say it fairs against the PHA-50 action on the FP-90 if i’m strictly going to play piano vsts. For instance, an analog synthesizer restricts itself to the number of keys needed to play songs in particular genres. With that said, the P-125 sounds good via headphones with or without Stereophonic Optimizer, so no worries there. The second way is to connect it to a computer and use it to control software such as Logic, GarageBand, or FL Studio.

I have heard that the yamaha has a setting where, when you use headphones, it sounds like you’re playing a grand piano in a concert hall. Fortunately, most keyboards come with a headphone jack, so students can make the mistakes needed for improvement without also playing on the frayed nerves of family and neighbors! Dual Mode (Layering) – allows you to layer two different sounds so that they sound simultaneously whenever you press a key. What this does is split the piano into two, which allows two people to play on the same instrument by creating two middle-C notes. I am just asking because if I will have to end up connecting it through USB cable to avoid latency, I might as well get the Casio which supports bluetooth audio so I can use bluetooth headphones and connect it to the computer through cable.

Note that Casio’s Bluetooth audio is designed for audio streaming from external devices (smartphones, audio players) and will not work with Bluetooth headphones. Or you can just connect and use headphones to the computer where your VST is running, which is a much better option qualitywise. Alternatively, you can use Bluetooth Audio (and MIDI), which this keyboard also supports (via the included WU-BT10 Bluetooth adapter). Unweighted keys are easier to push down while weighted keys respond like a traditional piano, making a keyboard with weighted keys a good piano for beginners. This should be enough for most students and teachers, without the added distractions of hundreds of different voices, backing tracks, rhythms, etc. When you reach the polyphony cap, the piano starts to drop the earliest played notes to free up memory for new notes, which in turn affects the quality and fullness of the sound. However, if you’re not too bothered about the piano sound and want something with a huge variety of different sounds and tones, this probably won’t concern you too much. If you’re looking for something more advanced, check out the PX-S1100’s older brother, the PX-S3100.

Touch-wise, the Yamaha P-125, Kawai ES110, and Casio PX-S1000 would probably better options for organ playing as the keyboard on the FP-30 might be a bit too heavy for that. All those fancy marketing terms that manufacturers use when promoting their instruments make things even more confusing. To better understand the piano keys layout see how the black keys on a piano are grouped together in groups of two’s and three’s.Alternatively, you can play back WAV and MIDI files (depends on the piano model) directly from the flash drive without loading them into the piano’s internal memory. If you learn something on a 49-key keyboard, you don’t have to learn it all over again if you move onto an 88-key model.

Another thing that comes to mind with the FP-10 is that it’s pretty tall, so when placed on a desk (if it doesn’t have adjustable height), it may just be too high to reach when sitting on a regular chair/stool. The bad news is that as the market grows and becomes more saturated, it becomes more difficult to decide what instrument is right for YOU.In my opinion, the Roland FP-30X checks all the right boxes, and is a serious contender to be the best beginner/intermediate digital piano on the market. Some digital pianos do a decent job when it comes to portability, but the 88-key design makes it hard for people to take out and about. There are two variations of grand piano tones (sampled from two different grand pianos) as well as some nice electric piano sounds, organs, strings, and other instruments. For a start, you have fewer keys - fewer keys means less weight, and this makes it much easier for you to take your piano with you when you go gigging or if you give lessons to students at their homes. This means you can wirelessly connect them to your computer or smart device to exchange MIDI data with apps like GarageBand, FlowKey, Playground Sessions, etc.
