Alongside his writing, Sam worked as an award-winning digital content producer for the National Theatre, as a playwright and freelance journalist, and once ran a company designing murder mystery treasure hunts for adventurous Londoners. Bronnie is so lovely with the boys and we also felt that having a man enthusing about the books set a great example.
The Adventures on Trains series is published in the UK and US by Macmillan, and is licensed to more than fifteen countries around the world, including China, the Czech Republic, France, Greece, Italy, Japan, Latin America, the Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Spain and Sweden. A small niggle is that the books do at times strike the tone, just a touch, of left-leaning political content and green/environmental nonsense, but if you can look past this than the whole series is a really great read.Also, it was a bit violent, and there were some crude references not appropriate for a children's book. They would also only drop off a case of books and leave us to run it – it was so lovely to have you on hand to chat to the children and recommend them books, as well as the small (but appreciated!
