About this deal

I grew up reading those Amelia books published by American Girl, so I really love scrapbook style books like this but I think the problem is she doesn’t come across as an interesting person so it’s not very interesting to look through her scrapbook/journal/moodboard/tumblr!

I love photographs, and I also recently discovered my love for memoirs (thanks to I’m Supposed to Protect You from All This by Nadja Spiegelman), so this book came at the perfect time for me to read and enjoy. She brings would-be admirers (and current fans who follow her on street style blogs and social media) into her world with this combined style guide, memoir, and scrapbook. It's a nice book, it has really interesting pictures and photos in it and writing but it's not really a reading kind of book as in it doesn't take you long at all to read. With influences that range from the sultry beauty of Jane Birkin to the rocker chic of Mick Jagger, it's no wonder that everything worn by Alexa Chung instantly becomes the latest trend. I thought going into this that it was going to sound semi-pretentious, but I – for the most part – really liked Alexa Chung’s writing voice.Witty, charming and with a refreshingly down-to-earth attitude, It is a must-have for anyone who loves fashion, worries about growing up, or loves just about everything Alexa Chung. Celia Bertin's 1957 Paris a la Mode goes behind the scenes at the Parisian couture house and includes a chapter on mannequins but again not from a model's perspective.

The things deemed worthy of being stand alone in huge italicized center aligned letters make no sense lol.I wasn't exactly this type of girl (the Stanley Kubrick's Lolita Ana Karina Brigitte Bardot posting babydoll soft grunge tights under shorts type), but I was a Tumblr user enough that there is a little bit of a magical feeling flipping through this thing.

I cannot believe this woman lives in a world where she can create this pathetic self-worship, have it published, and have it purchased. The sections’ topics are very diverse, the book can move from Spice Girls to meeting Anne Wintour in nearly one page.
