About this deal

I was hesitant to try the Apple+Mango+Chili, but after taking a bite, I was quite impressed. The mango had a tropical taste, while the chili's slight heat balanced out the sweetness of the bar. My favorite wound up being the Apple+Pear+Ginger bar. I was a huge fan of the pear bar by itself, but I don't always do well with ginger. However, the ginger was just subtle enough as to where I could still taste it but it wasn't overwhelming. Now I know why ginger and pear are so commonly paired together. Bite-Sized Goodness That’s It fruit bars are available in four flavours in Canada: Apple + Cherry, Apple + Blueberry, Apple + Mango, and Apple + Strawberry. If you’re living in the United States, there are fifteen flavours to choose from.

When your fruit is cooled, put it in a food processor or powerful blender and chop and mix ‘em up. Add a little bit of water to help the fruit bind if need be. By a little, I really mean a little. Less than a teaspoon. You can play around with how long to process for depending on how smooth you want your bars to be.Make Ahead & Freezing Instructions: You can refrigerate the cooled bars before cutting into squares, see step 6. Baked and cooled bars freeze well up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bring to room temperature, if desired, before serving. April 2018 - 22:51 GMT There are clearly not just whole apples and blueberries used to make this product. They have been manipulated to ensure shelf life and hopefully food safety. When creating an ingredient line it needs to be clear and transparent to the consumer as to what you are putting in the product. Apple powder is different than apples which is different than apple concentrate. The regulations exist for a reason... I’m used to smooth fruit bars but these Costco fruit bars have chunks in them, I’m not a fan of the extra chunks, they just make the texture odd. I enjoy the taste and flavor of the mango bar but “that’s it” for these. Costco That’s It Mini Fruit Bars Cost Note: the nutrition facts below reflect the Apple + Blueberries flavoured That’s it bar. The range of nutrition information for all flavours is listed in parentheses. See our That’s It Bar Nutrition Facts Comparison Chart for details.

He also alleges that, “The inclusion of dried apple and other fruit/vegetable ingredients – powders and pieces – means water must be added to reconstitute or rehydrate them, prior to the time the final product is finished. The products do not indicate the presence of water in the ingredient list, which is misleading. April 2018 - 19:17 GMT I think it's pretty obvious that there is not just an apple and berries in a bar. The manufacturers have processed fruit to make it stable at room temperature (not sure of for how long) and of course, now it is a concentrated source of calories from fructose (fruit sugar). Let's take the apple + strawberries bar for an example. In one bar (35 grams) there are 100 calories, 22 grams of carbohydrate, and 17 grams of sugar. This bar is Tiny! 35 grams is 1.32 ounces. Meager! In one whole apple (100 grams - 3.5 ounces) there are 52 calories, 14 grams of carbohydrate, 10 g of sugar. They should not be allowed to spin it to push consumers into thinking that this bar is the equivalent of eating an apple or berries. These are like a fruit leather or dried fruit bar, I like fruit leathers but these just aren’t that good! There’s three flavors in the bag, strawberry, blueberry and mango. The mango is by far the best and has a flavor very similar to the Kirkland Signature Organic Dried Mangoes. The bars are chunky, and may not be the prettiest of colors but such is to be expected when using real, dried fruit. Don’t be deterred by the aesthetics, because these are really tasty. The flavors currently available are: The ingredients listed below are for the Apple + Blueberry flavour. See our That’s It Bar Ingredient Chart below for other flavours.

Cool baked bars completely, just like you would let a pie cool completely. If you cut the bars into squares while they are still warm, they’ll completely fall apart. If I’m serving these at a party or event, I prepare them the night before just so I know they’ll cool long enough to yield neat squares. Defendants's representations have enabled them to command a substantial premium in comparison to alternative bar products which use specific instead of common names to designate their ingredients."

My absolute favorite bars from Costco are the RX bars which I have a Youtube review on! I also love these Autumn’s Gold Grain Free Granola Bars and really enjoy the Costco Kirkland Signature Soft & Chewy Granola Bars as a treat! Location in Store

DIY Eco-Friendly Self-Care Practices

That’s it bars are made with only fruit. Depending on the flavour, That’s it bars contain one small apple, and a small amount of berries, cherries, or mango. Harvest Snaps are a more nutritious option than traditional potato chips. Compared to potato chips, Harvest Snaps are baked instead of fried and contain less saturated fat and sodium. However, Harvest Snaps are still considered a processed food and are best consumed in moderation. Read the full review here.

That's it. also has a newer, trendier upgrade. The three flavors include Apple+Cinnamon, Apple+Pear+Ginger, and Apple+Mango+Chili. Each contain a spicy element to up the flavor an extra notch. The apple with cinnamon adds a nice, warm touch. When heated slightly in the microwave, it was reminiscent of apple pie. Fruit leathers or any dried fruit products are a great shelf-stable option for fruit on the go. However, the dried nature of these products means they are often less filling than whole fruit. We suggest choosing whole fruit where possible for a more satiating option. Given that the manufacturing process is proprietary, That's It Nutrition won't want to disclose details via public court filings that could show rivals how it makes its products, he said. The Costco That’s It fruit bars are individually wrapped and are quite thin so you can easily pop them into your bag, lunch box or keep a few in your car. There’s only two ingredients in each bar and both are fruit! Costco That’s It bars are gluten-free, dairy-free, egg and nut free as well as free of soy and sulphites. They just have dried fruit in them. ScoringMake the filling: Place the blueberries, sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice in a saucepan over medium heat on the stove and stir gently to combine. Cook and stir for 2–3 minutes until the cornstarch and sugar begin to dissolve and the berries look evenly wet. Remove from heat and stir in the lemon zest. Baking Powder: Baking powder keeps the crust/crumble on the lighter side. Without it, the texture would be a little too hard and dense. Brown Sugar: I love using brown sugar in a dough/crumble like this, because of the moisture and flavor it provides. Make the crust: Whisk the flour, 1 cup (85g) oats, brown sugar, baking powder, lemon zest, cinnamon, and salt together in a medium bowl. Add the melted butter and stir until the mixture resembles moist crumbly sand and no dry spots remain. You will have a little more than 3 cups of crust mixture, or about 520g. Press 2/3 of the mixture (about 2 cups/345g—doesn’t have to be exact) into the prepared baking pan. Press it into the pan with your hands, a large spoon or spatula, or the bottom of a measuring cup to form a crust. Bake for 10 minutes, and then remove from the oven to slightly cool. I love the handheld nature of dessert bars, but remember, these are blueberry pie bars. They’regooey, juicy, crumbly, and a bit messy. So I do recommend a fork and plate… or at least a plate and a napkin. Unless you’re willing to risk purple-stained fingers and clothing! * Sally’s Baking Recipes is not liable for blueberry stains.*
